The Kidnapped Anambra Public Utility Commissioner Ezenwanne Regains Freedom
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed release and safety of the State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, who was kidnapped during the attack at Isuofia Civic Center, which led to the death of three- three Police Officers at the Professor Charles Soludo Isuofia hometown.
According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Police, Military and other Security Agencies had mounted intense search and rescue efforts, which had closed in on the Commissioner’s abductors, thereby forcing his release.
He said Commissioner Ezenwanne returned home unhurt, in the early hours of yesterday .
Meanwhile, the Police Command had arrested five suspects in connection with the incident and pledged to remain committed in apprehending the remaining gang members.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Kuryas has however, called for calm and reiterated the Command’s commitment towards ensuring safety and security of Ndi Anambra and residents at all times.
